Breaking News: Municipal League confirms need to improve Port accountability, transparency and culture
Welcome
|
Hello, my name is David Doud and I am running for the
Seattle Port Commission. I would be honored to have your vote.
|
My platform is centered on four major topics:
- Competitiveness
- Environmental improvements
- Managing assets
- Changing the port's culture
The Port of Seattle faces competitive pressures from Ports
vying for our family wage jobs from Vancouver, Long Beach and
the Panama Canal. The Port must continue to adopt best practices
to remain competitive, realize efficiencies and make smart, long
term infrastructure investments for the region.

From my experience on trade missions to the far east and
living abroad, I understand our role in the global marketplace.
I will bring that knowledge to the Seattle Port Commission.
Our Port should be the greenest and cleanest port in
North America. This is good for business and it is good for the
environment. Over the past years, I have been a leader on the King
Conservation District and on the Commission for the Mercer Slough
Environmental Education Center. From the emissions of trucks,
ships and planes, to how the port conducts its daily business, we
must look for new ways to improve our region's environment.
As one of the largest land owners in King
County, the Port of Seattle manages over 4,000 acres of property. My career as a
commercial real estate broker gives me the ability to evaluate the
highest and best uses of the Port's real estate. I will bring
leadership to the Commission in this important area and oversee
the maximum return on investment for taxpayers.
I encourage you to join Democrats, Republicans and Independents
who are all supporting my campaign, by voting for me, David Doud,
in the August Primary.
Thank you!!
